CRYSTAL FACTS and INFORMATION
My interest in crystals and crystal healing started in 2003 when I purchased some ‘rocks’ to be used as stress balls. I brought them home, placed them on the table and we all looked at how pretty they were. We then put our hands above the crystals and were amazed at what we felt. We were all drawn to different ones and felt heat, cold and tingling. Even my hubby was impressed – and that is saying something! The particular one I was drawn to was a black tourmaline – and once I held it I realised it sent tingles up my arm and also a metallic taste in my mouth. It also made me feel good holding it. I looked up the properties of the black tourmaline and instantly realised why I was feeling what I did – I needed it!

So that’s how it started. With my black tourmaline constantly at my side I researched and bought books and learnt whatever I could about crystal healing. Naturally I acquired a few more stones… well at least 100 and had them all labeled in presentation boxes. There are lots of views on why crystals do what they do, and being in the final stages of my social research degree I was looking at the more ‘scientific’ reasons. The ‘theory’ I kind of liked was that crystals all vibrate at different frequencies. And we vibrate too. One excellent explanation was that we are like an orchestra with all different instruments playing together.

If all in tune, then the sound is good – but all it takes is one instrument to be out of tune for the sound to be displeasing. And that is like our bodies – all it takes is one area to be ‘out of tune’ and we suffer either mental or physical problems. So when that happens, that area needs retuning – or in fact its vibration changed. And that is where crystals come in. We will be drawn to the one we need – either by seeing it, feeling it or reading about it. And when we hold that crystal it changes our vibration so that we are again in harmony.
Since then I have learnt that there is a lot more to crystals and crystal healing than the theory I had back then. I have used them daily since and have qualified as a crystal healer. Crystals have also led me on my spiritual journey with Reiki and recently Angelic Reiki. So those ‘rocks’ have a lot to answer for! Incidentally whilst I will always have a soft spot for black tourmaline crystals and do generally always have one with me, I found that after around a year all the tingling and metallic taste stopped. And that was the sign that I did not need it any more. How cool is that!
