REIKI HEALING
Reiki is a wonderful therapy and incredibly popular. It is divided into 4 levels - and the fantastic thing is that anyone can go on a weekend course, learn level 1 and they then have the skills to heal themselves, family and friends. Therefore its not just your family and friends who benefit - but its a tool you can use to heal yourself - both physically and mentally. Of course many people take Reiki further and obtain level 2 so that can practice professionally and some then progress to level 3 and 4 - Master and Teacher. But the fabulous thing about Reiki is that to benefit yourself all you need is level 1.

Personally I was aware of Reiki for some time but there was 'something' that never enabled me to commit to learning it. At this stage I was doing reflexology and very much into crystal healing - but had kind of explained them to myself as 'science we don't understand yet'. Then I had a reflexology session from someone who was also a Reiki healer - and they 'turned' their Reiki on. Wow - I could not believe it! I felt this electricity going right through my body and could see a vivid green colour whenever she pressed my solar plexus on my foot. I guess that was the day that I started thinking outside science and my spiritual journey began. So I soon enrolled on a Reiki 1 course, followed by Reiki 2 and I am on my spiritual path. It is good to leave some time before taking the Master/Teacher level, but I will hopefully undertake this shortly.
Now a bit about Reiki itself - Reiki originates from Japan and is handed down from one person to the next through attunements. It is based on Universal Life Energy - or 'Ki' which the Reiki practitioner becomes attuned to. During a Reiki healing session the Reiki practitioner acts as a channel for that energy and passes it through to the client by placing their hands on or near their body. Once the energy is flowing, the practitioner has no input in terms of what happens to the energy - they are purely a channel - but the client will receive all that is needed for them.
A Reiki treatment session involves laying on the therapy couch fully clothed. The practitioner will then lay their hands either on or above each chakra - starting with the crown chakra. Depending on the focus of the session, varying times will be spent on each chakra. For example a treatment addressing emotional issues will be concentrated on the crown (top of the head) for the majority of the treatment. Reiki is amazing - various sensations are often felt by the client such as tingling, heat etc and often different colours are seen. Amazing!
